KS Academia Prep is an IB and IGCSE tuition centre at Far East Shopping Centre, Orchard Road, founded in October 2020 by Yunxiu Li. Students come for subject lessons, supervised study between lessons, and help with IB subject choices and university applications.
Trial lessons are paid. No sign-up fee, no deposit, billed monthly.
Alongside subject lessons, KS Academia Prep runs three programmes that families come to the centre for.
Supervised study time between lessons, run by KS Academia Prep's Teaching Assistants, so homework is completed, checked and corrected before the next lesson. Free for enrolled IGCSE and IB students, in selected time slots arranged with the centre.
Help choosing IB subjects and HL or SL levels, checked against university prerequisites before the Grade 10 subject form. Led by Yunxiu Li.
Guidance on university applications, including UCAS, the Common App and Singapore universities, led by Yunxiu Li and the counselling team, in English or Korean.

Yunxiu Li, an NUS Life Sciences graduate with more than 23 years of experience teaching Chemistry and Biology in Singapore, watched capable students stall because the work between lessons was never done, or never checked. Li founded KS Academia Prep in October 2020 to close that gap.
The centre is built so that subject teaching, supervised study, academic planning and family updates work together.
KS Academia Prep's teaching is organised by department, each led by a named tutor: Jason Low leads Humanities (Economics and Business; Kirby Ng teaches Economics and Karen Chen teaches Business in his department), Ara leads Mathematics, Yunxiu Li leads Science (with Adrian for Physics) and Elizabeth Kim leads English. A child keeps the same tutor for the course, and the paid trial lesson is with the tutor they would have.

KS Academia Prep stays involved in a student's week between lessons. In practice, that means four things.
Students practise in a supervised room with a Teaching Assistant, on fixed days that increase as exams approach.
Work is checked against the subject tutor's answer key, and Economics essays are marked by the tutor.
Comments are tied to the mark scheme, so students can see exactly where marks are lost.
Parents hear from the centre in English, Mandarin or Korean, on WhatsApp, KakaoTalk or WeChat.
Students from Singapore's international schools, Singaporean families and Korean expatriate families study at KS Academia Prep, and some join lessons online.

KS Academia Prep teaches Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma in Economics, Business, Mathematics, Science and English, and AP Economics, in small groups or one-to-one.
Study Supervision is supervised study time between lessons, run by a Teaching Assistant, in which a student's work is completed, checked and corrected before it is needed again. Families also call it the Academic Momentum Programme, supervised study or academic coaching.
An IBDP Subject Consultation at KS Academia Prep works through a student's strengths, workload and target universities to decide IB subjects and HL or SL levels, and checks each choice against university requirements.
Yes. Parent updates and consultations are available in English, Mandarin and Korean. Some tutors also teach in Mandarin or Korean, subject to availability, and written work for IB and IGCSE exams is in English.
Yes. Several subjects, including Economics, can be taught online on Zoom as well as in person at Orchard Road.
