IGCSE Economics Tuition in Singapore

From 2027, Paper 1 is 40 multiple-choice questions in one hour (30% of the grade) and Paper 2 is a two-hour structured paper worth 80 marks (70%), with one compulsory six-part question in Section A and a choice of three from four in Section B. Assessment objective weightings also shifted: knowledge and analysis carry more marks while evaluation carries fewer. Under the 2027 syllabus an A* comes from four things: secure, precise content across all six areas; disciplined multiple-choice technique on Paper 1; complete analysis chains that finish the cause-and-effect; and evaluation on the higher-mark Section B parts. The single fastest gain is matching each command word (identify, explain, analyse, discuss) to the depth of answer it demands. We teach that as an explicit marks ladder, and use our KS Academia Prep Evaluation Method for the "discuss" parts, drilling both against real 0455 mark schemes. This is the single most common situation we see, and it's very fixable. Losing marks despite understanding almost always comes down to exam technique: command words, diagram labelling, analysis chains and evaluation structure, none of which self-study teaches well. We diagnose exactly where the marks are leaking, then drill the specific skills to close the gap.
