아이비 경제 믿고 여기서 들으세요. The best econs tution you can find in Singapore. I started taking lessons from here since IGCSE econs all the way upto IB econs. I successfully managed to gain both a 7 in HL econs and A for econs extended essay. The active interactions between the tutor and students as well as the top tier teaching skills of the tutor made my experience here truly memorable.

IB EconomicsJason Low

Taking classes from Jason tutor was an amazing experience. He focuses on both the 'intuitive understanding of economic concepts' and 'the practical methods to score high marks in the actual exam'. He is also very capable of planning lessons based on the individual needs of the student, which proves that he thoroughly observes each students for their weaknesses and capabilities. Thanks for Jason, I was not only able to get a 7 for economics on the IB Final exam, but was able to develop an economic mindset and logic and take it with me even after graduating highschool.

But afterall, he is passionate of what he teaches and the impact he gives to his students, which is what inspired me most of all.

I joined Jason's IB econs class during Grade 11 and it's been really helpful! I was always very engaged during the lessons and the way Jason teaches is very efficient. I maintained a 7 throughout the IB course and ended up getting a 7 on my final exam as well. Thanks to Jason, I didn't have to prepare too much for finals - the weekly lessons itself are enough to pull you through! Totally recommend if you want to score high or if you are struggling with econs.

“The right choice to strengthen your knowledge for economics”

The most useful part was the constant reminders and revision back to past lessons — it gives me active thinking and long-term memory of the information. I’m glad I had Kirby as my first economics teacher.

“It is fun, but also serious when it needs to be — that is a good mix, so time flies and you learn a lot more”

The way Kirby mixes jokes and economics together makes the class more fun, more interesting and more understandable.

EconomicsJason Low

Although I spent less than a year learning from Jason, his tutoring has been the most enriching and beneficial for me. From the start, I wasn't a very competent humanities student, and getting the highest grade seemed completely out of reach.

His lessons helped to bolster my conceptual understanding of the principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, and his way of teaching even brought me to enjoy the topic of International Economics, which originally was my least favourite topic.

Jason's notes and summary courses are terse and also very enriching, and they left room for additional real-world examples that I could even use in my essays. His timed practices also helped to optimize my in-exam pace, which a lot of students (including myself) were struggling with.

Ultimately, I noticed massive improvement from near-failing to a top grade.

IB EconomicsJason Low

I took IB Econ lessons from Jason. He was very clear, patient, and knew exactly how to guide me through the IB. He also had a strong understanding of both IB requirements and Economics, so he was always able to answer my questions clearly and in detail. His explanations helped me understand difficult concepts much better, and he also provided classes for IA, which were rly important in order to achieve good grades. I recommend his classes for IB Econ students. Best in sg

I learned IGCSE Economics and IB Economics SL from my tutor Jason. His explanations were always clear and he provided students with appropriate examples that helped me to understand theories better. Thanks to his lessons, Economics was not a problem at all for me in my IB finals.

Great teacher who engages properly with students, both in and out of the classroom. In their economics programme, concepts are conveyed in a fun and understandable manner, and salient in real life contexts. Will recommend here for tuition!

About Economics tuition in Singapore
How much does Economics tuition in Singapore cost?

Group Economics tuition in Singapore typically runs from roughly $200 to $500 per month depending on level, group size and centre, with one-to-one rates higher again. At KS Academia Prep, fees depend on the level (IGCSE or IB) and format, so message us on WhatsApp for the current rate for your child's level — we'll give you the exact figure rather than a range.

How do I choose the best Economics tuition in Singapore?

Judge a centre on four things rather than on claims: which syllabus it actually specialises in, whether written work comes back marked against the real mark scheme, how small the classes are, and whether the tutor can show you a track record at your specific level.

The most common mismatch in Singapore is syllabus: many Economics tuition centres are built for A-Level and JC students, so an IB or IGCSE student ends up being taught a syllabus they aren't sitting. Ask that question first.

Do you teach A-Level, JC or H2 Economics?

No. KS Academia Prep specialises in IB Economics (SL and HL) and Cambridge IGCSE Economics (0455) only. We don't teach A-Level, JC or H2 Economics.

That focus is deliberate: the IB and Cambridge mark schemes reward different things from the A-Level one, and we'd rather be genuinely expert in two syllabuses than average across four.

Where is your Economics tuition centre in Singapore?

Far East Shopping Centre, #15-06, 545 Orchard Road, Singapore 238882 — about a five-minute walk from Orchard MRT (NS22 / TE14), Exit E. Most classes can also be attended online, so students anywhere in Singapore can join without travelling.

IB & IGCSE specifics
Do you offer IB Economics tuition in Singapore?

Yes — IB Economics at both Standard and Higher Level, covering the written papers and the Internal Assessment. Jason Low, who heads the department, is our IB Curriculum Designer of Economics. See the IB Economics page for how each component is assessed and where students most often lose marks.

Do you offer IGCSE Economics tuition in Singapore?

Yes — Cambridge IGCSE Economics (0455), taught for the current syllabus. Kirby Ng is our Lead IGCSE Economics Tutor and runs all the IGCSE group classes. See the IGCSE Economics page for the paper structure and what changed for 2027.

My child is moving from IGCSE to the IB Diploma — do you help with that transition?

Yes, and it's one of the most useful moments to start. The underlying skills — command words, diagram technique, structured evaluation — carry over directly, so a student who builds them at IGCSE is well ahead at IB. If you're also unsure which IB subjects and levels to take, our IBDP Subject Consultation is built for exactly that decision.

Lessons, tutors & getting started
Which tutor will my child have?

Jason Low, who heads the department, is IB Curriculum Designer of Economics and teaches the IB classes. Kirby Ng is Lead IGCSE Economics Tutor and runs all the IGCSE Economics group classes. Jason reviews Kirby's lessons, so the same standard holds whichever tutor your child is with.

I understand Economics but keep losing marks. Can tuition help?

This is the single most common situation we see, and it's very fixable. Losing marks despite understanding almost always comes down to exam technique — command words, diagram labelling, analysis chains and evaluation structure — none of which self-study teaches well. We diagnose where the marks are leaking, then work on the specific skills that close the gap.

How big are your Economics classes?

Deliberately small. Focused group sizes mean every student's written work actually gets seen and marked, and the tutor can coach individual technique rather than lecture. Current group sizes vary by level — message us and we'll tell you exactly how many are in the class you're considering.

Do you teach Economics in Korean and Mandarin as well as English?

Yes. Lessons are taught in English, Simplified Chinese and Korean, so a student who is stronger in another language can understand the concept first and then learn to write the marks-earning answer in English. We can also speak with parents directly.

When are Economics classes held?

Weekday evenings and across the weekend, with additional holiday intensive and revision courses. See the lesson schedule above for current times and availability.

Do you offer a trial Economics lesson?

Yes — a no-commitment trial where your child sits in on a full lesson before you decide. WhatsApp us at +65 8129 8782 with the level (IGCSE or IB) and preferred language, and we'll arrange a trial that fits.
