How to start, the trial lesson, and joining part-way through the IB Diploma.
KS Academia Prep puts three things under one roof. Weekly IB and IGCSE lessons in groups of 8 to 10, where every answer your child hands in is marked. Free Study Supervision for enrolled students, where a Teaching Assistant keeps them working until homework is finished and checked. And IBDP Subject Consultation, which helps families choose IB subjects and HL or SL levels against university requirements before the Grade 10 subject form. Parents can talk to the centre in English, Mandarin or Korean.
Message KS Academia Prep on WhatsApp on +65 8129 8782 with your child's subject, level, school and current grade, and send a recent marked test or essay if you have one. The centre will suggest a class or one-to-one lessons and arrange a paid trial lesson with the tutor your child would have. If your child continues after the trial, the trial fee counts towards the first month's fees, and fees are then billed month by month. There is no registration fee and no deposit.
Yes. A KS Academia Prep trial is a normal lesson, the same length as the class or one-to-one lesson your child would join, taught by the tutor they would have. It is paid, and the fee depends on the subject. If your child continues, the trial fee counts towards the first month's fees. Bring a recent test, essay or piece of homework: it comes back marked, so you can judge the feedback before committing to anything. More on the tuition fees page.
KS Academia Prep arranges a trial as soon as it can. Allow a little time first for the centre to talk to you and understand what your child needs, so the trial is with the right tutor and class.
No, it is not too late: students join KS Academia Prep in the second year of the IB Diploma. Send us your child's recent exam scripts first. They show the tutor what your child can already do, so KS Academia Prep can advise honestly whether one-to-one lessons to catch up or joining a class is the better fit.
Yes. KS Academia Prep's tutors can teach IB Economics to students who did not take IGCSE Economics, and the centre has taught students in that position before. Expect it to be harder at first: your child will be learning the basics while keeping up with the IB course, so it takes more work. A recent piece of school work helps the tutor judge where to start.
No. KS Academia Prep has no term-long commitment, no deposit and no sign-up fee. Fees are paid month by month, at the start of each month, and you decide month by month whether to continue.

In IB Economics, HL covers everything in SL plus extra HL-only content, and HL students sit an extra exam, Paper 3, a policy paper. The IB Economics guide sets 150 teaching hours for SL and 240 for HL. Both levels complete the same Internal Assessment, a portfolio of three commentaries. The full comparison is in our guide to IB Economics SL and HL.
Yes. At KS Academia Prep, Jason Low mentors IB Economics students through the Internal Assessment and the Extended Essay. Under IB rules both must be the student's own work, so the tutor guides and gives feedback, and the student does the writing.

No. None of KS Academia Prep's tutors is an IB or Cambridge examiner. They are experienced Economics tutors, and their students' results and reviews are on the results page.
