Many centres in Singapore also charge a one-time registration fee, commonly $50 to $200, and hold a deposit of up to a month's fees, often refundable if you give proper notice (MoneyBees 2026 cost guide). Both are worth asking about when you compare. KS Academia Prep charges neither, so the monthly fee above is the whole cost.

Group classes have a maximum of 8 to 10 students. Fees are billed by the number of lessons in the month (4 or 5) and paid at the start of the month.

What's included in KS Academia Prep's tuition fees?

Every KS Academia Prep fee, group or one to one, covers the following.

  • All learning materialsNotes, worksheets and practice papers, in soft and/or hard copy.
  • Marking with written feedbackYour child's own answers are marked, with written comments on what to change.
  • Help between lessonsYour child can message the tutor on WhatsApp between lessons. KS Academia Prep's Economics tutors also give their own time between lessons to answer questions and mark extra essays.
  • Recordings of group lessonsAvailable on request, so a missed lesson can be caught up.
  • Study Supervision, free for enrolled studentsSupervised study at the centre to finish and check homework, in selected time slots arranged with the centre.

Why is the hourly rate a poor way to compare tuition fees?

An hourly rate tells you what one lesson costs. It does not tell you what a term costs, what is included, or what you are signing up to.

A fairer comparison asks three things: what is the all-in cost for a full term, what is included in it, and what are you committed to?

How does a trial lesson at KS Academia Prep work?

A trial is a normal lesson, the same length as the class or one-to-one lesson your child would join. It is paid, and the fee depends on the subject. If your child continues, the trial fee counts towards the first month's fees.

  1. Bring your child's own workA recent test, essay or piece of homework in the subject.
  2. Join a real lessonYour child takes part in the lesson as any student would.
  3. Leave with it markedThe work comes back marked, so you can judge the feedback before committing to anything.

What do students say about marking and feedback at KS Academia Prep?

In Economics especially, marks are won or lost in how an answer is written, so KS Academia Prep tutors mark each student's own work rather than handing out one model answer. Students describe what that led to in these Google reviews.

IGCSE and IB tuition fees: common questions

19 questions

Fees

What does IGCSE tuition cost at KS Academia Prep?

At KS Academia Prep, small-group IGCSE tuition is S$55 to S$70 per hour, which comes to S$440 to S$700 a month for one 2-hour lesson a week, depending on whether the month has 4 or 5 lessons. One-to-one IGCSE lessons are S$100 to S$160 per hour. The exact fee depends on the subject and whether the tutor is senior or junior.

What does IB tuition cost at KS Academia Prep?

At KS Academia Prep, small-group IB Diploma tuition is S$65 to S$80 per hour, which comes to S$520 to S$800 a month for one 2-hour lesson a week, for SL and HL, depending on whether the month has 4 or 5 lessons. One-to-one IB lessons are S$100 to S$180 per hour.

How much is IGCSE or IB tuition per month at KS Academia Prep?

At KS Academia Prep, one weekly 2-hour group lesson costs S$440 to S$700 a month for IGCSE and S$520 to S$800 a month for IB. The range is wide because fees follow the number of lessons: a 4-week month is billed as 4 lessons and a 5-week month as 5. There are no registration, deposit or material fees on top.

Why don't you list exact prices?

Fees vary by subject, level and tutor, so a single price would be wrong for most families. The ranges on this page show where fees fall. Message us on WhatsApp with the subject and grade and we will tell you the exact fee.

Why do senior and junior tutor rates differ?

Rates reflect each tutor's experience. Senior and junior tutors teach the same syllabus with the same materials, and every fee includes the same marking, materials and access to the tutor outside lessons.

Is group or one-to-one tuition better value?

Group lessons cost less per hour and suit students who benefit from steady weekly practice alongside others. One-to-one lessons suit students with specific gaps or close deadlines. Both include the same materials and marking.

Billing and terms

Does KS Academia Prep charge a registration fee or deposit?

No. KS Academia Prep charges no registration or sign-up fee, no deposit, no material fee and no extra fee of any kind.

Do I have to pay for a whole term upfront?

No. You pay at the start of each month for the lessons in that month. There is no term-long commitment.

How does billing work in a month with 5 lessons?

Fees follow the number of lessons. A 4-week month is billed as 4 lessons and a 5-week month as 5 lessons.

Is the trial lesson free?

No. The trial lesson is paid, and the fee depends on the subject. It is the same length as a normal lesson, and if your child continues, the trial fee counts towards the first month's fees.

Can I cancel a lesson?

Yes, if you tell us ahead of time: the lesson can be cancelled or rearranged. Last-minute cancellations are charged as normal, because the tutor has already planned and prepared marking for that class.

What happens if my child misses a lesson?

Ask KS Academia Prep for the recording of the missed group lesson, which is available on request, and your child can catch up on what was covered.

Can we pause lessons over the school holidays?

Yes, in most cases. Pausing over the school holidays is usually fine; just tell us ahead of time. KS Academia Prep also runs holiday programmes to help students catch up or revise before exams. For Economics, students who attend a holiday programme are given priority for places when classes for the new semester are allocated.
